It has been awhile since my last blog post, May 31. Let me tell you what had happened to me in between those time. I had quite a roller coaster months in between the month of May and June. It was all started out with an outdoor craft shows and sales that I attended as an exhibitor. I spent the whole two months, working extremely hard on sewing new bags to fill up my booth and for sell. Half way through the process, my most dependable industrial sewing machine broke down because I jammed it too much with thick layers of leathers! Good grief! I tried fixing the machine myself to avoid paying an arm and a leg for the repair cost. It took me awhile to realize that it's out of my hand, it needed a magic touch by the mechanic guy. So I sent it out for repair and I was fortunate enough to find a repairman that didn't charge me a hefty price for it. It's about $40, but I had to lug the whole machine head in about 100 pounds "dead weight" machine to the car and to the store. You would not want to know how's my back felt after that! :(P
While my heavy duty sewing machine was on repair, I couldn't just sit around doing nothing as I'm quite a workaholic, I sewed clothes! I made about 6 kaftan tops, 4 skirts, 3 summer dresses, and 7 interchangeable shawls/tops. It was fun and easy making clothes comparing to making handbags. The light weight that could feed easily through sewing machine making life so much easier.
I was well prepared by the show date in anticipation of making tons of sells at the show. Unfortuately, it rained out during the two days of the show...., and it was an "outdoor show"! It didn't turn out the way I was hoping for, but hey...who said life is always as smooth as we want it to be right? I just have to let it pass and move on to my next project.
Here are a few photos of my booth setup: Enjoy!
This is an interchangeable top that you can wear it as a shawl, scarf, or just a fun top like this over a tan top, and matching with jeans or shorts.
